Buitengast

Frequently asked questions

Answers to key questions about your stay, rates, and practical matters.

Location & contact

Where is Buitengast?

Buitengast is at Persingensestraat 13, 6575 JA Persingen, in the Ooijpolder. It is about a 15-minute bike ride to the Nijmegen Four Days Marches start. Phone 024 350 43 94, email welkom@buitengast.nl.

Arrival & departure

When can I arrive and leave?

Arrival is possible on Saturday, Sunday or Monday between 09:00 and 18:00. Please check in at reception so we can verify your reservation. Departure is Friday or Saturday. Friday has no fixed time; on Saturday the site must be vacated by 12:00.

Facilities

Is there wifi, water and sanitation?

There are plenty of toilets and showers. Water points are available around the field; unlimited water is available at reception. Wifi is only around the house/reception, not guaranteed across the field. Waste facilities are present. Motorhomes can empty a cassette toilet; this is not a full motorhome service station.

House rules

What about quiet hours, fire and visitors?

Buitengast is set up for walkers, not party groups. It is quiet from 22:00 to 06:00. Open fires are not allowed; gas barbecues are, if used safely and without nuisance. Visitors report to reception. Keep at least 4 metres of clear access for emergency services.

Can I bring a pet?

No. Pets are not allowed at Buitengast. Assistance dogs follow a separate, legally correct exception process; please contact us.

Camping unit

Which camping units are welcome?

Motorhome, caravan, folding trailer, large tent, or small tent up to 2 × 2 metres. A folding trailer has the same price and pitch use as a caravan, motorhome or large tent: one full pitch. A small tent uses half a pitch.

When is a tent 'small'?

A small tent is maximum 2 × 2 metres. Three or more guests are not blocked, but you will see a clear warning that they probably will not fit. You can switch to a large tent or confirm that your tent really stays within 2 × 2 metres.

Electricity

Can I choose electricity?

Yes, while that category has space. Bring at least 25 metres of extension cable. We use regular 220V plugs, not blue camping connectors. Appliances over 650 watts are not allowed. Charging electric cars is not allowed, including via a pitch supply. Two small tents can share one hook-up on site; we arrange that locally. In the booking, electricity is always charged as a full connection (€60.00).

Parking

Can I park?

Yes, book the number of parking spots you need. Cars are not parked at the tent, caravan, folding trailer or motorhome; they go to the lot at the back of the yard. Motorhome guests can also book a car parking spot. Daily in-and-out driving is by arrangement with the manager.

Dinner

Can I have dinner on site?

Yes. The dinner package is a shared three-course meal Monday to Thursday, starting at 17:30, usually finished around 19:00. Choose the number of participants when booking. Seasonal capacity is 120. Please add diet needs and allergies in the booking, or later via the contact form.

Massage & blister care

Are massage and blister care available?

Yes. Buitengast facilitates both; they are provided by external teams and are not included in the camping rate. Massage: five experienced therapists, booked on site, paid in cash to the therapist. Saturday from about 15:00; Sunday arrivals again from about 15:00. Blister care: two, sometimes three first-aiders, present each walking day from about 15:00, with their own fee. Times may change by service email.

Bikes

Can I rent a bike?

Yes. There are plenty of bikes, but reserving in advance is strongly recommended. Choose the number of bikes and rental days. The price is calculated automatically (€15.00 per bike per day). On-site extras are possible while stock lasts. Collect and return at reception during opening hours. Deposit is €50.00 per bike, paid at collection, not in the online camping payment. If a bike is missing, the excess is €150.00 with the original key, or €295.00 without the key.

Booking & rates

How is my price calculated?

Pitch, people and extras, plus an administration fee of €25.00 on every booking and tourist tax / environmental levy of €3.50 per person per night. You see the full price before you book. The current rate list is on the rates page and follows the central price list.

Can I cancel?

Until 30 April you can cancel and only the €25.00 administration fee remains due. From 1 May to 30 June only dinner and bike rental are refunded. From 1 July there is no refund. No-show without timely cancellation: no refund. See the camping and cancellation terms.

When does the next season open?

Bookings open on the first Saturday of November before the season. Until then you can sign up for the opening notice.

What if the campsite is full?

Join the waiting list. The oldest matching request within available capacity goes first. Signing up does not guarantee a spot.
